Departments of Work
One principle driving the work of the TEI is to enact a comprehensive redesign of our teacher education program. Because many elements of teacher education are interdependent, it will not be sufficient to change only part of our program. Instead, we will need to intervene more or less simultaneously on each of the primary components of our program, including curriculum, clinical education, students, instructors and staff, and program structure. In addition, we must develop a research program to document and analyze our efforts and trace the progress of our graduates. Finally, we need to create the infrastructure to enable the work of the Initiative, including communications, marketing, budgeting, and fundraising.
