Kappa Delta Pi: Overview

Membership in Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) signifies more than a well-deserved line on a résumé.  Members have the responsibility, as a recognized honor student and honored educator, to maintain the high ideals of the society and to extend its influence.  Membership in Kappa Delta Pi involves both responsibilities and privileges.  Attending meetings, performing service projects, serving as part of the leadership council, and modeling the behaviors and attitudes appropriate to the honor bestowed upon members are ways to contribute to the profession.  Specific privileges include: KDP Publications, Scholarship Opportunities, Beginning Teacher Resources, Continuing Professional Support, Regional & International Conferences, Professional Networking & Contact, and International Educational Tours.

Our members make up the top 10 percent of those entering the field of education and include award-winning and outstanding practicing educators.  As a member, you are a part of an international network of the world’s finest educators.  With over 60, 000 members from more than 550 active university, college, alumni, and professional chapters located in the United States, and other countries, you will have access to the ideas, research, insights, and expertise of the field’s most prestigious educators – including the Laureate Chapter, National State Teachers of the Year, and Golden Apple Teachers.
