Social Justice and Education: Action Symposium Series
2004 – 2005
A series of three Action Symposia to challenge us intellectually and afford us opportunities to frame our institutional response to issues of social justice and education in our own work as teachers and scholars.
Each Action Symposium will include speaker presentations and responses by UM faculty and graduate students; special topics sessions for small-group discussions of issues in Teacher Education, Higher Education, and Research Methods; a continuing conversation on Social Justice, Gender and Sexuality; and a closing Action Forum with a panel and general discussion of our institutional response to the challenges raised during the days of the Action Symposium.
The organizing committee invites faculty and student input, volunteers, and nominations (including non-SOE faculty at UM) for respondents, panelists, and special topic session coordinators. To make these events a success we need broad participation.
