- September 10: Application deadline for The Sisters Fund Small Grant Awards (sponsored by the Institute for Research on Women and Gender). IRWG invites applications requesting support of scholarly activities directed to global health issues, specifically focused on gendered health disparities. Applications from all academic disciplines, including the arts, humanities and sciences, are welcomed by tenure and non-tenure track or emeritus faculty, clinical and research faculty and librarians. Guest speaker will be Maria Cecilla Colombi, Professor, Spanish Linguistics from the University of California who will talk on “The Role of Language Education in Developing Advanced Literacy in Heritage Languages: A Case Study of Latino Students of Spanish in California.”

- October 19: Rackham International Students Fellowship Deadline. This award is for international students who will be in their second or third academic term during Fall 2007 and are actively pursuing a degree in any Rackham program. There are 20 awards of $7,500 for 2007/08. Students must be nominated by their department. Departments may nominate up to two students. For complete information and application please go to:
