Staff Development & Performance Management: Request

The Staff Development and Performance Management Team solicit requests for funding from School of Education staff members interested in an individual development opportunity.  Requests are reviewed using the guidelines below, and should be submitted at least three weeks prior to the date of need using this request form.

Applications are considered based upon the following criteria (1 = highest priority):

  1. Request has clear and immediate relevance to current position or newly assigned responsibilities. (Request will have direct benefit for both the individual and the School.)
  2. Request provides clearly defined professional growth opportunity for individual as it relates to his/her career path at the university.
  3. Request provides clearly defined personal growth opportunity for individual within the framework of his/her life circumstances. (Request furthers individual's ability to cope with personal circumstances.)
  4. Request provides clearly defined growth opportunity for individual within the framework of his/her overall career goals. (Request's impact will probably not have immediate or direct impact on School.)

Examples of typical requests are:

    • UM or off-campus training course
    • conference attendance/travel
    • books/reference guides
    • other
