Supporting Students’ Argument Writing and Historical Thinking Through Curriculum Reform

Working with one middle school social studies department, I am developing and piloting social studies investigations designed to improve students’ historical thinking, reading, and writing across grades 6-8. With teachers, I am evaluating the impact of the curriculum materials on a range of learners and co-constructing revisions to the materials so that students can be more successful and teachers can use the materials more effectively.
