Nesting World History Instruction for Future Faculty, Secondary Teachers and Students: A Project to Prepare Teachers of World History at Multiple Levels

The project propose a series of coordinated and sustained activities to extend, expand and build upon an established program in professional development and curriculum design for secondary teachers of world history by adding (a) a workshop for future faculty in the Department of History and the School of Education who will work together and under the supervision of Michigan faculty to develop teachable and exportable curricular units for secondary classrooms, (b) a workshop for secondary teachers in which graduate students would present their curricula to secondary teachers of world history, (c) curricular and video archive to disseminate instructional materials and resources to secondary teachers and students, and (d) classroom assessments by which we would study the impact of the activities on the participants as well as the secondary students.
