Elizabeth Tacke’s experience teaching 7th and 8th grade English in Oakland, CA helped to solidify her interests in studying questions of identity and writing. In her current research, she is interested in therapeutic discourses and life writing, particularly the political and critical potentials of life writing and the ways that writing can be used as a tool of process and reflection. She is also interested in Disability and women's studies, genre, the teaching of writing, and English education. She currently works as a Field Instructor in the School of Education for the MA Teacher Certification program.
