Prior to UM: Prior to coming to the University of Michigan, I was a setter for Case Western Reserve University's varsity volleyball team.

Why your program: I chose to go into Elementary Education because I am very interested in how we learn, what makes up an individual, and how we can improve our education system through culturally relevant teaching. UMich's program has provided me with a wide range of experiences and knowledge throughout the two years.

The best part of SOE so far: It has been such a wonderful experience being with others who have the same passion for teaching and working with kids. I have fallen in love with the faculty in SOE, and appreciate all of their hard work and effort in preparing us to be the best teachers we can be.

After graduation: After graduating in May, I plan to attend the University of Pennsylvania to get a dual degree, M.S.Ed in Counseling and Mental Health Services and M.Phil.Ed in Professional Counseling. Intended certificates include school counseling and mental health counseling certificates. I am excited to learn more about the education field,

Teach me something! Be open to trying new things!! There are so many opportunities and activities to do on and off campus, so take advantage of it all! Join clubs, make new friends, take on leadership positions, take classes outside of your major, try new restaurants, and be adventurous. Have fun and Go Blue!
