Christopher Michael Parsons

Graduate Student Instructor

Chris Parsons is a doctoral candidate originally (and currently) from Ann Arbor, MI. Before returning to Ann Arbor, he earned a BA in English from Carleton College and an M.Ed from UNLV and taught high school English for five years in Las Vegas (American Literature and intervention classes for emerging readers). As a Graduate Student Instructor in the School of Education at Michigan, Chris taught Methods of Teaching English and served as a field instructor for pre-service English teachers. He has also taught first-year composition and upper-level writing in the English Department Writing Program, where he is currently a Graduate Student Mentor for departmental GSIs. His dissertation research focuses on ideologies about identity and literacy in secondary schools.
