Doctoral student in Organizational Behavior and Management
Field of Study: PhD in Higher Education, Organizational Behavior and Management
Year in Program: 4th year
Geographic Region: Canton, Michigan
Undergraduate: University of Michigan (BA); Seattle University (MA)
Prior to UM: Prior to starting my PhD program in the SOE, I was serving as a planned giving director with the American Cancer Society, living in Denver, and covering Alaska, Colorado, and Wyoming.
Why your program? I chose U-M and the SOE because of the rigorous attention to methodology in social science research and because of the clear commitment to advancing the role of higher education in the public good.
The best part of SOE so far: The best part of my experience as a graduate student continues to be my amazing cohort! The relationships that we've built are incredibly supportive, intellectually challenging, and just a ton of fun. I've also been wonderful to work closely with a few professors who have helped me develop as an emerging scholar. Finally, I've really appreciated the wonderful resources available to students to pursue independent research. Because of these opportunities, I'll be heading to India for the second time next year to conduct research related to my dissertation.
Teach me something! A few of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat and catch up with friends: Frita Batidos, Zingerman's Roadhouse, Jolly Pumpkin, and Taco King. I don't want to forget Mighty Good Coffee - I'm a big fan of the salted caramel mochas.
