Where do you HAIL from? Garden City, MI

Prior degree(s): B.S. in English Literature from Eastern Michigan University

Before coming to UM: I came straight to U-M from my undergraduate institution using my summer in between to finish up some projects with the Honors College at EMU.

Why your program? This program was 100% the right fit. I felt comfortable in the School of Education community, the faculty are brilliant, incredibly helpful, and supportive and Ann Arbor feels like home. Since my eventual goal is to get a Ph.D., I've appreciated the research foundation I've gained through CSHPE while also having the opportunity to improve upon my practice through my internship experience.

The best part of SOE so far: Hands down the SOE community is the best. Not just in the program but in the school as a whole I feel welcomed. I love the SOE family!

After graduation: After graduation I will be continuing one of my two internships through the end of the academic year. Ideally, I'll also be working to find a full time position in the functional areas of recruitment, admissions, student success, and/or bridge programming.

Teach me something! One of my biggest tips about being a student at U-M would be to explore the surrounding community and the state of Michigan. Ann Arbor is an awesome city with fun shops, community events, and lots of great food. We're also located in great geographic proximity to the city of Detroit, the state capital of Lansing, and several other fun cities and beautiful scenic landscapes on the west side of the state and "up north". Get out and explore, you won't regret it!
