Liz Kolb receives grant for project on digital citizenship

Liz Kolb has received a 2014 grant from the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning for her partnership project to prepare new teachers to teach middle school students about digital citizenship. Elementary teaching interns at SOE will develop and teach 10-minute “centers” on digital citizenship for local middle school students (in grades 6 and 8) in their English classes

Elizabeth Keren-Kolb discusses cell phones as teaching and learning tools in the journal Educational Leadership

In the abstract, Kolb writes: "Even teachers who did not grow up in the digital generation themselves have come to accept the mobile phone as a ubiquitous presence in the everyday lives of their students. Kolb discusses the potential benefits of using cell phones as tools to enhance instruction, and describes seven types of creative learning activities that teachers can use."
