Education Nation broadcast watch party at SOE

On Thursday, April 14, NBC News Education Nation and WBAL-TV will present a special live forum, “Supporting Our Students: It Takes Everyone,” in Baltimore, Maryland. A live viewing will be held at SOE during the forum, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Prechter, emceed by Nell Duke, who serves as an expert for NBC News Parent Toolkit, which will stream the event.

Liz Kolb receives grant for project on digital citizenship

Liz Kolb has received a 2014 grant from the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning for her partnership project to prepare new teachers to teach middle school students about digital citizenship. Elementary teaching interns at SOE will develop and teach 10-minute “centers” on digital citizenship for local middle school students (in grades 6 and 8) in their English classes
