Naomi Wilson to receive WDI-PALF Internship and Fellowship

Naomi Wilson has been selected to receive the 2016 William Davidson Institute-Pearson Affordable Learning Fund (WDI-PALF) Global Impact Internship and Fellowship. She will serve as an ambassador on behalf of WDI and the University of Michigan during a 12-week summer internship in Kasoa, Ghana, from May–August.

“Place Out of Time” interactive simulation not out of place in Oman

“May it please the court,” began the young man in Muscat, Oman, as he launched into an impassioned presentation of testimony before a panel of distinguished justices. In real life, he was one of 80 promising high school students brought together from all over Oman for intensive summer study, but to the justices, and indeed to most of the others in the room, he was known as Mary “Mother” Jones.

From a competitive pool of 365 applicants, Christina Weiland and Enid Rosario-Ramos were chosen as two of only 25 National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellows for 2014-2015.

Learning4Teaching Project extended to Qatar

The Learning4Teaching Project, which conducted research in Chile and Turkey led by Clinical Associate Professor Kathleen Graves and doctoral student Claudia Cameratti-Baeza, has been extended to a third country. The project recently was funded by the Qatar National Research Foundation, and will be the first large-scale phenomenographic study of teacher learning and development in the Gulf region.
