The Big History Project launched its public online course November 1. The Big History project seeks to broaden awareness and understanding of big history and create demand for the project’s classroom course. Bob Bain, associate professor and chair of secondary teacher education, has played a central role in the project, overseeing all curriculum design and delivery for the classroom course, with an emphasis on assessments and standards. The project aims to have more than 10,000 people engage in the public course prior to Thanksgiving.

To accompany the introduction of the public course, the History Channel premiered the new television series Big History  on November 2. Bob Bain was featured on the show.
