3/10/2004 - Tim Cain (a CSHPE student) and Anne Marie McEvoy Conley (an Educational Studies student), each won a Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship. These substantial and prestigious fellowships are awarded to a very limited and diverse group of outstanding students who will complete the dissertation in the year in which they hold the fellowship and who will complete the doctorate within six years of beginning their programs.

In addition, Rong Chen from CSHPE was awarded a Barbour Scholarship, that is given to citizens of countries in the area once called the “Orient”. The Barbour Scholarship program was established in 1914 at the University of Michigan to train young women in modern science, medicine, mathematics and other specialties critical to the development of their native lands.
