Timothy Boerst, Meghan Shaughnessy, and Deborah Loewenberg Ball have been awarded a $1.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation for their project, Investigating Relationships Between Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching and High-Leverage Teaching Practices. This project will use simulations of teaching practice to explore the relationships between “high-leverage” mathematics teaching practices and mathematical knowledge for teaching. Further, variations on teaching simulations will be developed to explore their potential as contexts for advancing learning.

Timothy Boerst is Clinical Professor

Meghan Mary Shaughnessy is Research Specialist Lead & Lecturer IV
