3/23/04 - Megan Schultz, a School of Education student in the elementary teacher certification program, was just announced as the runner-up in the annual scholarship competition sponsored by the Michigan Association for Colleges of Teacher Education (MACTE). Megan competed against more than 60 nominees from more than 25 teacher prep institutions in the state of Michigan. Megan was one of three chosen from the School of Education to represent the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in the competition. In addition to submitting a resume outlining her work with K-8 students, university transcripts, and an instructor nomination, Megan was also required to write an essay addressing the topic of "How I can contribute to the improvement of education in the 21st century." The MACTE scholarship winner last year was from UM-Ann Arbor.
