Mary Schleppegrell's Functional Grammar program named as a factor in a Dearborn elementary school's exceptional student performance

An article in the February 15, 2012, Dearborn Press & Guide reports on the Iris Becker Elementary school being cited by the Michigan Department of Education as one of the top-seven Title I schools in Michigan for student improvement. Becker Principal Nada Fouani named a number of programs that she believes have contributed to the school's success, including the Functional Grammar program created by Mary Schleppegrell.

Mary Schleppegrell is a professor in the School of Education.
