On Thursday, December 3, 2015, this year's Race and Social Justice in Education Symposium Series will continue with a screening of the documentary Tested. Curtis Chin, the filmmaker who directed Tested, will be on hand to discuss the film. Tested looks at the lack of racial diversity at the top public high schools in New York City by following a dozen families from different racial, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds as they prepare to pass the grueling entrance exam. The film screening and the discussion of it will take place in Schorling Auditorium (room 1202) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

This event is sponsored by the School of Education, the Horace H. Rackham Graduate School, Becoming Educators of Tomorrow, and the Center for the Study of Black Youth in Context. I hope you can attend what promises to be an interesting and engaging film and discussion.
