Pamela Moss, Timothy Boerst, and Deborah Ball have been awarded a grant from the Institute of Education Sciences, U.S. Department of Education, for a project entitled "Developing Mathematics Teaching through Focused Collaborative Assessment of Practice" in the amount of $1,638,954 for the period July 1, 2010, to June 30, 2013.

The project focuses on the use of collaborative assessment of high leverage practices and mathematics in elementary teaching to support sustained professional learning communities of beginning and experienced elementary teachers in grades 1-5. Pamela Moss is a professor of education. Timothy Boerst is a clinical associate professor. Deborah Loewenberg Ball is dean of the School of Education, William H. Payne Collegiate Professor, and Arthur F. Thurnau Professor.
