Nell K. Duke quoted in Hechinger Report story on struggling readers

In a story on The Hechinger Report website, “Mining online data on struggling readers who catch up,” Nell K. Duke is referenced as explaining that stronger readers read more. In reference to a data-mining finding that readers who caught up read 4.7 more minutes per day, she is quoted as saying, “It is possible that some other factor, such as increased parental involvement, caused both.” Read the story here.
