Nell Duke interviewed for story on reading law in Colorado

Chalkbeat Colorado, an education news website, talked to Nell Duke about implications of the Colorado Reading to Ensure Academic Development (READ) Act, which requires schools in that state to identify struggling readers in kindergarten through third grade and create special plans using a list of state-approved approaches to help the students improve. “The truth is we really don’t know if these state legislative efforts are helpful or not because we don’t have enough data over long enough to be able to figure that out,” Duke said.
