MLK 2017 Children & Youth Program: The Sound of Change

Tags: deans updates

The 2017 MLK Children & Youth Program will be held on Monday, January 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in the Modern Languages Building. The annual MLK Children & Youth Program provides local K-12 students the opportunity to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by providing a day of activities and events designed specifically for children and teens in grades K-12. Throughout the years, these activities have included storytelling, guided discussions and group projects, skits, rap poetry, and various musical performances. The program is facilitated by capable adults, many of whom are professional educators, youth workers, or students in the School of Education who have experience working with children or who are preparing to become teachers. The 2017 event will mark the 19th year for the University of Michigan's MLK Children and Youth Program.
