Meghan Shaughnessy named board member of the Michigan Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators


Research Specialist and Lecturer Meghan Shaughnessy has been elected to serve the Michigan Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (MI-AMTE) as a board member at large. 

MI-AMTE is the local branch of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, which is the largest professional organization devoted to the improvement of mathematics teacher education. It includes over 1,000 members devoted to the preservice education and professional development of K-12 teachers of mathematics.

Of her recent election, MI-AMTE Nominations and Elections Committee members Nesrin Cengiz-Phillips, Margaret Rathouz, and Darlene Kohrman said, “We are excited to have members willing to serve the organization in this way. We encourage you to congratulate and thank them for their service and leadership.” 

Shaughnessy supports the School of Education’s Elementary Teacher Preparation Programs and Mathematics Education program.
