Educational Studies and MBA (Dual Degree) student Catalina Kaiyoorawongs served on a team that won the 2018 Detroit Fintech Challenge. Their educational technology project, Dough, is a platform that simplifies and personalizes student loan management, guiding students through lowering their aid package and paying interest so they graduate with less debt. The team intends to simplify loan management and reduce student loan default.

“I'm personally motivated to work with Catalina and the rest of Dough team to mitigate the burgeoning problem of Federal student loan default, which is at a whopping $137 Billion," said Tel Ganesan, Managing Director, Kyyba Innovations. Kyyba Innovations co-hosted the event and invested in Dough as a prize for the competition.
