Maria Coolican, lecturer, and doctoral student Gwynne Morrissey have been awarded a $4000 grant from the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching for their project, "Leveraging Millenial Students' Experience: Using an Experiential Learning Framework to Teach New Teachers."

In this project, they will look at how experiential learning and collaborative processes affect apprentice teachers' development of three high-leverage practices:

  1. Choosing and using representations, examples, and models of content
  2. Establishing norms and routines for classroom discourse and work that are central to the content
  3. Analyzing and improving specific elements of one's own teaching
