Lisa Lattuca to join the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education (CSHPE) in summer 2011 as professor of higher education

Dr. Lisa Lattuca will join the CSHPE faculty starting in the summer of 2011. Her research and teaching focus on curriculum, teaching, learning, and faculty work in higher education. These interests have led to studies of the influence of academic disciplines on college curricula; curriculum planning and change; interdisciplinary research and teaching; educational experiences and learning outcomes in engineering programs; and the impact of outcomes-based accreditation on engineering programs and students’ learning.

Dr. Lattuca’s appointment comes at an exciting time for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education research and promises to encourage new and interesting linkages with the U-M College of Engineering and the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT).

Currently a member of the Center for the Study of Higher Education at Penn State, Dr. Lattuca previously served as an assistant professor at Loyola University Chicago, an associate program officer at the Spencer Foundation, and a college administrator in the areas of institutional advancement and enrollment management. Dr. Lattuca is an alumna of the School of Education, earning her PhD in higher education in 1996.
