I will be testifying before the House Education and Labor Committee at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill. My subject is supporting and developing teaching quality and is part of the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), known as No Child Left Behind.  This is an excellent opportunity to convey to legislators the ideas that are central to the improvement of teacher training and assessment and are important to federal policymaking and funding, and on which we are working here at the School of Education through our Teacher Education Initiative.  I will also have meetings with some members of the committee and also others.  Next week, in my updates I will report on my experience with the testimony and the hearing.

Update: View a PDF of Ball's testimony.
