TeachingWorks streaming seminar to be held on April 28

On Monday, April 28, 2014, TeachingWorks will host the final seminar in its year-long series on teacher preparation and effectiveness, “Teaching Teachers Roundtable: Preparing Novices to Use High- Leverage Practices.” This seminar, which will be held from 4:10 to 5:30 p.m. in the Tribute Room (room 1322) and streamed online, will feature Bob Bain, associate professor and chair of secondary teacher education, Elizabeth Birr Moje, professor and associate dean for research and community engagement, and Mark Windschitl, professor at the University of Washington College of Education. The speakers will discuss how their organizations train teachers to make content explicit through explanation, modeling, representations, and examples. There will be ample time for discussion among the speakers as well as with audience members.
