Dean’s Updates: April 21, 2014 CPEP faculty candidate to visit April 21-22 On Monday, April 21, and Tuesday, April 22, 2014, Uma Jayakumar, assistant professor of organization and leadership at the University of San Francisco’s School of Education and a faculty candidate in the Combined Program in Education and Psychology (CPEP), will visit the school. Her research talk, “The Politics of ‘Higher Schooling’: College Access, Racial Representation, and Hope for Institutional Praxis,” will be on Monday, April 21, and her pedagogical talk, “Teaching for Social Justice: Basic Strategies for Inclusive Engagement,” will be on Tuesday, April 22. Both talks will take place from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in the Tribute Room (room 1322).

It is really important to have good attendance at these presentations, both so that our visiting candidate meets many members of our community and so that the search committee benefits from a wide range of reactions to and comments about the visiting prospective faculty member. Following the candidate’s visit, the search committee will send out a link to a survey designed to elicit your comments. Your assessment is important, so please take the time to complete the survey. Thank you for your help!
