Suzanne Wilson to present in the TEI Seminar Series on March 22

On Tuesday, March 22, 2011, the Teacher Education Initiative (TEI) will continue its seminar series, “Teacher Assessment in Teacher Education,” with a talk by Suzanne Wilson, from Michigan State University. Dr. Wilson will present her talk “Teacher Assessment as a Policy Lever” from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Tribute Room (room 1322).

Suzanne Wilson is a professor and chair of the Department of Teacher Education and director of the MSU College of Education’s Center for the Scholarship of Teaching. Her work spans several domains, including teacher learning, teacher knowledge, and the connection between educational policy and teachers’ practice. She has conducted research on history and mathematics teaching and has reviewed the literature on teacher professional development and teacher education. Her current work focuses on developing sound measures for tracking what teachers learn in teacher preparation, induction, and professional development programs.
