Our all-School of Education meeting for fall 2014 will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014, from 8:45 to 11:00 a.m. in Schorling Auditorium (room 1202). The meeting will open with a conversation with Mark Schlissel, the new University of Michigan president. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear from our new leader and I am grateful for his participation. In order to make the most of our time with President Schlissel, please plan to be seated in Schorling by 8:45 a.m. The balance of the meeting will focus on a mid-cycle review of our 2010 strategic assessment, with special attention being paid to stocktaking and goal setting. Lunch will be provided in Prechter Laboratory (room 2202) directly following the meeting to encourage conversation about our agenda, progress, challenges, and priorities.

The meeting is designed for SOE faculty, staff, and students, and I am eager for all to participate in this annual event. Holding and engaging in these all-SOE meetings is one of many efforts we make to build our collective capacity and sense of community.
