Deborah Ball and Timothy Boerst selected for Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators awards

The Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE) has announced its 2012 award winners: Deborah Loewenberg Ball has been selected as the 2012 AMTE Outstanding Mathematics Teacher Educator. Timothy Boerst has been selected as the 2012 Early Career Award winner; this award "recognizes a mathematics teacher educator who, while early in his career, has made distinguished contributions and shows exceptional potential for leadership."

The awards will be presented at the association's annual conference in February 2012, at which Ball will make a presentation related to her award. Boerst will present a session at the 2013 conference.

Deborah Loewenberg Ball is William H. Payne Collegiate Chair, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor, and dean of the School of Education.

Timothy Boerst is a clinical associate professor.
