Alumna Katherine McNeill receives early career research award

Katherine McNeill, MS '05, MS '06, PhD '06, has received the Early Career Research Award from the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST). According to NARST, this award "is given annually to an early career researcher who demonstrates the greatest potential to make outstanding and continuing contributions to educational scholarship." The selection committee reviewed her publications, which were evaluated for intellectual quality, methodological rigor, innovation, and creativity.

Among McNeill's publications is the recently published book, co-written with Joseph Krajcik, Supporting Grade 5-8 Students in Constructing Explanations in Science: The Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning Framework for Talk and Writing.
