EDUC 638 Internship and Directed Field Experience

Last modified: July 23, 2014

Information about Master of Arts Internships for Teaching and Learning, and Digital Media and Education

Please contact Percy Bates if you have questions or concerns about the internship experience. Also, if you are a dual-degree student (business and education), the “MAP” experience in the Business School can be substituted for EDUC 638.

The purpose of the internship is to give the students the opportunity for hands-on professional experience related to career expectations and course work.

The course is offered for 3 credits and is offered in the Winter and Spring half-term.

The seminar portion of the class will meet every two weeks for 2 hours to share experiences as a group. The group will meet more often in Spring half-term. Students will spend 10-12 hours per week at the site and will submit weekly written summaries of the previous week’s activities.

Below are some examples of internship sites that master of arts students participated in previously. These are to give information about the range and breadth of the internship experiences and are only illustrative and not intended to be exhaustive.  Other possibilities are available as well.
