Completed Research Practicum in Higher EducationLast modified: July 23, 2014
The research practicum in higher education is required of all doctoral students before they are admitted to candidacy and undertake the dissertation. The objective of the research practicum is to provide students with an opportunity to engage in scholarly research and gain the professional experience of sharing this research with a scholarly audience, and to do so prior to commencing dissertation work. The practicum must be completed under the supervision of a faculty member. This research is expected to involve participation in a scholarly activity that culminates in a published research article or a refereed research paper that is presented at a professional conference.
