Current Undergraduate Student Funding Sources
Scholarship Opportunities
The School of Education is pleased to provide some students who are admitted to the school with financial support in the form of scholarships. Students receiving degrees and teacher certification from the School of Education are given priority in determining who receives a scholarship.
Eligible students are those who are currently enrolled and those who are scheduled to begin School of Education courses in fall 2009 or winter 2010 terms.
The scholarships range from $500 awards to tuition expenses for two or more semesters and are given for three broad purposes:
- To enable or encourage students of great promise to enter teaching through one of the teacher preparation programs at the School of Education.
- To recognize and support currently enrolled students who have demonstrated exceptional growth and accomplishment in learning to teach.
- To honor distinctive practice as a student teacher.
The funds come from various sources, including gifts and endowments given to the School of Education. Some scholarships carry additional eligibility criteria established by the donor.
Application
The deadline for the 2009-2010 Merit and Need-Based Undergraduate Scholarship Application has passed. The undergraduate scholarship application for 2010-2011 will be posted by December 2009.
