What expenses are associated with initial teacher certification?

As with any professional licensure program, there are costs associated with acquiring the license. These costs are in addition to University of Michigan tuition and room and board. Below is a list of estimated additional costs you will incur while part of the Teacher Education program:

Fingerprinting $69.00 (prior to start of program)
Substitute Permit for Michigan $25.00 (optional, during program)
Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC)   
Basic Skills
$49.00 (passed by end of first term)
First Subject Area Test $74.00 (passed by certification recommendation date)
Each Additional Subject Area Test $59.00 (passed by certification recommendation date)
CPR/First Aid $60.00 (last program semester)
Michigan Teaching License $160.00 (after graduation)
