Present Position: I am currently serving as a Curriculum Leader at Cleveland Middle School in Detroit I am responsible for coordinating information and activities for the Social Studies Department, as well as basic administrative duties.
Prior to coming to the SOE: Prior to coming to the SOE, I was finishing my undergraduate degree in History and Secondary Education at Howard University. I also completed the Ronald E. McNair program while at Howard, presending reasearch at several Universities.
What I Learned in the Program: In the program I learned many of the outside forces that affect student achievement. I became more aware of what was necessary for me to achieve my goals of making changes in the educational system. Also, the importance of research and networking with other educational professionals are paramount.
