Ali Shriberg

Present Position:
Ali Shriberg In September 2004, I began working for the Grow Network in New York City. The Grow Network is an educational company that works with states and school districts to develop instructional reporting programs crafted to their particular needs. At Grow, I will be a Client Manager and work directly with school districts to help them fulfill their needs for customized reports.

Area of expertise:
My area of expertise is K-12 education with an emphasis on early reading/literacy.

Prior to coming to the Dual Degree Program:
Prior to graduate school, I worked for 5 years at Score Educational Centers, an educational company that runs after-school tutoring centers across the country. At Score, I served in several positions, including running a specific center, standardizing operations at a corporate level, and managing a region of centers.

What I Learned in the Dual Degree Program:
I learned many things on many levels in the dual degree program. On a content level, I learned the fundamentals of business and K-12 administration and policy. My studies at the two schools often overlapped and I was able to incorporate my understanding of one area into the other. Further, the work requirements (i.e. papers, tests, projects, etc.) at each school often differed, which enabled me to broaden my academic skills. As a cofounder of the program, I also learned a lot about making change at a large institution. I believe that future students will also develop these skills as they progress through the program.
