Friday, June 1: Experiencing the CSHPE of the Present:

11:30 AM -- Registration and Buffet Lunch,
Rackham Assembly Hall

  • View our photo display and slide show
  • Post a message or story on our memory wall
  • Be among the first to view and bid on items in the silent auction
  • Enter the Ann Arbor/CSHPE Cohort Challenge (A2/C3) Trivia Contest

1:00 PM  -- Welcome and Introductions Rackham Amphitheatre

2:00 PM -- Acquaint or reacquaint yourself with our faculty at the CSHPE Faculty Project Sessions
(Sessions will be held hourly through 5:00 PM)

Topics include:

  • politics and governance
  • higher education and African American social development
  • using non-experimental methods in educational research
  • international educational reform
  • improving teaching at a research university
  • faculty and intercollegiate athletics
  • liberal arts education
  • higher education for the public good
  • dynamics of organizational strategy in colleges and universities
  • undergraduate student outcome

5:00 PM -- Reception
                Michigan Union Ballroom
        
6:00 PM -- Dine with friends and colleagues on your own      

  • Return to the places you called home while at the Center: Dominick’s, Pizza House, Metzger’s and The Brown Jug
  • Reminisce about the places that no longer exist
  • Experience some of Ann Arbor’s newest eateries

Saturday, June 2: Envisioning the CSHPE of the Future:

 

8:30 AM -- Registration and Coffee
                Rackham Assembly Hall

9:00 AM -- Connect with your colleagues at the Alumni-led Panel Discussions
(Sessions will be held hourly through 12:00 PM)

Topics include:

  • president and board relationships
  • the changing role of state government
  • the future of the independent sector
  • professional associations and their role
  • choosing alternative careers
  • the African-American experience
  • keeping up with changing technology
  • financial policy in higher education
  • issues in international education
  • faculty of the future
  • adult and continuing education
  • Latino issues in higher education

12:00 PM -- Luncheon
                  Palmer Commons Great Lakes Room

  • Deadline to submit A2/C3 trivia contest answers

1:15 PM -- Envisioning the Future

  • Colleagues from across campus will offer alternative perspectives and projections on higher education in the context of a changing world

3:30 PM -- Free Time

  • Continue bidding on the silent auction
  • Take a guided tour of Central or North Campus
  • Explore the Digital Commons and Media Union
  • Stop by the School of Education to see the building renovations

 

Celebrate our Past, Present, and Future:
                                            
5:30 PM -- Cocktail Reception

  • A “history” of the Center in song and story
  • Special recognitions
  • Silent auction and A2/C3 winners will be posted
