School of Education Network: Wireless Networking

Thanks to gifts of equipment from Intel and Apple Computers, supplemented by general funds and faculty donations, the School of Education is able to provide wireless Internet access in all of its classrooms. The Intel equipment consists of 20 Dell Latitude laptops and five broadcast units. The Apple gift consists of 10 Apple broadcast units. The SoE has purchased two additional Cisco broadcast units and 20 Apple iBook laptops loaded with standard SoE software, and equipped with wireless LAN cards. Several faculty have purchased broadcast units to extend wireless capability to many faculty offices.
