Improving Every Student’s Prospects for Success In Postsecondary Education

The United States is thought to have one of the finest systems of higher education in the world. Students come from around the globe to study here, and faculty and administrators visit to learn how our systems work. Yet we do not successfully educate all qualified students. What factors contribute to whether a student will succeed in college or other postsecondary program? What sorts of programs affect the aspirations, persistence and engagement of minority and low-income students? How does financial aid, and the forms in which it is given, shape college choices and careers? These are just some of the large and important questions currently being explored by School of Education faculty members.
