The Exhibit Museum of Natural History is now hiring Outreach Facilitators for our Family Science and Reading Program. This program is a collaborative project between the Museum and over 40 libraries in surrounding Michigan counties, and it consists of hands-on science workshops being implemented at library locations for children aged 6-11 and their guardians. These dynamic science lessons are presented not simply to students but to families in the hopes of harboring communal involvement in science and literacy and an increased awareness of museum and library resources. Coordinator of the Activities and Enrichment (A&E) program at Berkshire Middle School (Birmingham, MI) invites both volunteers and professionals to teach and/or facilitate a class to 6th, 7th and/or 8th grade students one day a week (Wednesday afternoons) for five weeks in that community. (more…)

The LSA academic advisor plays a pivotal role in the lives of LSA students. With the unique opportunity to sustain a mentoring relationship with students from Orientation through graduation, the LSA advisor motivates and inspires LSA students to explore and synthesize the richness of the liberal arts experience, both inside and outside the classroom.
