EDUC 736. Educational Realities, Interventions, and Policies for Young Children in Poverty
This course details the educational landscape for young children (age 0-8) in poverty, as well as specific interventions and policies meant to improve their educational and outcomes. We will cover inequities to learning opportunities across the 0-8 age span, resultant gaps in children's skills, the theories upon which different policies and interventions targeting this population are based, and the degree to which these policies and interventions accomplish their goals. Students will become critical analysts of educational interventions and policies for young children in poverty.
